The Noosa water sports you need to try
Calling all water sports fans to Noosa! This incredible part of Queensland draws people from all over Australia and the world to its stunning natural environment, especially for its immaculate beaches and waterways. So, where better place to let yourself loose on the water?
There are endless Noosa water sports to try, however we think that kite surfing, jet skiing and surfing are some of the best to experience in our beautiful region.
Which ones will you try?
Noosa Kite surfing
The Noosa Spit at the Noosa River mouth is popular with kite surfers, so if you’re not quite ready to give it go, it’s a great spot to chill out and watch the kite surfers put on a show.
The Venturi type of wind is commonly observed here. When there’s a medium wind force, (16-25 kn/30-46.3 kph), kite surfers will come across a southeast main wind direction. However, the best wind direction is from northeast, which is ideal for free style kite-surfers.
The best time of year to kite surf here is between September and January. Although, Noosa is blessed with consistent winds, perfect for learning to kite surf for up to 10 months of the year!
